Recently acquired by renowned Niseko agent Craig Meikle, Hakuba Real Estate is a iconic and established agency that has been serving The Hakuba Valley for the past two decades. Hakuba Real Estate focuses on the sale of all types of real estate throughout the Nagano and Myoko region. Craig and his team have all lived in Japan for well over 20 years and during this time have specialized in representing buyers across a wide selection of high end homes, condominiums, townhouses and land throughout the Japan resort markets.

Originally from New Zealand, Craig has spent 30 years in Japan, beginning his journey in Hakuba (The Valley) at Tsugaike where he enjoyed the early years riding Hakuba’s best lines. It was here he met Mik Baker, the founder of Hakuba Real Estate.
After spending time in Minakami and Tokyo, Craig settled in Niseko, where he has been a driving force in the real estate market for the past 17 years. His expertise spans residential property sales, development, development sales, and large land acquisitions. Craig has played a pivotal role in shaping Niseko into a world-class destination it is today.
At the heart of Craig’s achievements lies his innate ability to build and nurture relationships. His exceptional expertise, local Niseko and Hakuba market knowledge, and superior negotiation skills empower buyers and sellers to transact with confidence. People trust Craig, knowing that he genuinely has their best interests at heart, and the results speak for themselves. His name is synonymous with service, strategy, and premium results.
Craig has come full circle with the purchase of Hakuba Real Estate, a move that ties his journey back to where it began. He is excited about the opportunities and growth that the next 5–10 years will bring to the Hakuba Valley.
On a personal note, Craig has been married to Ruri from Tokyo for 20 years. Together, they have two children, both with successful ski racing backgrounds, including their eldest son, an Olympian skier.
